News » RSI Awarded Foundation Work on New Moffitt Building

RSI was recently awarded the foundation concrete work for the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center’s new 200,000 square-foot, $74.2 million outpatient facility. RSI is working with Skanska, the general contractor, and we are already well on our way to completing another on-time and on-budget project.
The new 8-story building will be about a mile from Moffitt’s main facility and will house 4 new surgery suites and imaging facilities, research facilities, and blood draw and testing facilities. The new space will also include administrative offices and dining areas. In conjunction with the main building, a new parking garage is being built on site as well.
Moffitt is Florida’s only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. A 30-acre donation from the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County provided the land for the non-profit project.
The new building is scheduled to open in February 2015.
