News » One Palm Sarasota Tops Out
Sarasota city officials and the One Palm project team recently celebrated the topping out of the One Palm apartments and Aloft hotel at the corner of Palm and Ringling in Sarasota.
The contractor provided a catered lunch and held a raffle/giveaway to thank all the subcontractors and tradesmen for their long hours and hard work. Singled out for his dedication to pushing the project along was RSI’s Francisco Gomez, Project Superintendent. The celebration took place in early December, so the raising of the traditional “topping out tree” fit right in.
RSI constructed 260,000 square feet of post-tensioned deck for the new building portion of the project. RSI poured 60,000 square feet of concrete on metal deck at the adjacent existing parking garage, which is being transformed into residential units. When finished in the fall of 2015 there will be 139 Aloft units and 141 One Palm apartments.
RSI is working closely with Kellogg and Kimsey, the general contractor, to ensure on-time and on-budget completion of the concrete portion of the project.
